Don Appleby has served since 2004 as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he teaches in the Information Engineering and Management Program and serves as the program’s Director of Strategic Planning.  He has over three decades of professional experience in the information technology industry.

Prof. Appleby is retired from IBM.  He earned a BSIM degree (with highest honor) from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a MSEE from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is currently a Senior Systems Engineer with Mainline Information Systems.
